It is thought that drinking water is supplied to a city with a population of 120.930 by means of the transmission pipeline.

Maximum daily water consumption is 230 L/P/day. The minimum operating pressure in the transmission line is 3 mss and f=0.03. Find the required pipe diameter in the transmission line without a pumping station. Also, calculate the pressure at the broken points.

(Note: Maximum operating pressure is 100 mss. For each point; determine the static pressure level, hydraulic gradient level, pipe axis level, static pressure value and operating pressure value. Flow velocity value should be between 0.80 and 1.80 m/s, and also take D=400 mm diameter for the initial value, then keep on with increasing by 100 mm., the optimum diameter should be selected.)
