3 examples of user stories are below, for each user story: 100 words (min) per answer. Briefly address the scenario, answer relevant questions related to potential solutions, and indicate what additional questions would you need to add the user. Think about the business analyst module and exercises while doing this. Remember that a user story never contains all the information needed to create a solution, and sometimes is extremely vague. Recommend what SLDC model would best fit a project to create software to resolve the challenge described in the user story. Why are you recommending this model over others?

User Story 2

Jane works in the Accounting department of Beta company, and makes a request to IT to improve an existing process. Each day Jane receives a list of accounts payable through email, then manually inputs the payments into a spreadsheet. Jane then manually manipulates the spreadsheet and sorts accounts payable items by department, and emails the department heads the relevant items requesting authorization to submit payment. When all authorizations are received back from the department heads, Jane then inputs the payable item into Beta companys accounting software and processes a check to the recipient. Presently this process can take days or weeks to complete, with vendors becoming frequently more upset at the length of time it takes them to receive payments.

Jane asks IT to recommend a better process to reduce the time it takes to get approvals and cut checks, and also asks what type of SDLC methodology will most likely be used to create the solution.

User Story 3

Charlie Company is a start-up made up of 5 developers who all worked in HealthCare. Charlie company was created to build a patient management system for a local hospital, with the hope of then reselling this system to other hospitals. The local hospital is their first client and requires that the software be built out in phases, with the first deliverable due in 30 days. Using primarily their industry experience, an outline and requirements are drawn out. The initial requirements are that the software perform the following key functions: Manage Patient Check In and Collect Insurance Information, Track the Patient as they are seen by different medical personnel, record diagnosis and patient notes made by medical professionals, and finally discharge the patient from care. The developers quickly release that they do not know what the hospitals current processes are, and know they need ask key questions of users of the current system.

Where do you think the potential challenges in this project lie, and what SDLC model do you think will fit best?
