You've been given the following information about the conference: - There are approximately 400 delegates (employees of the large multinational company} expected to attend the conference from several different countries including: Australia New Zealand South Korea China USA 00000 In addition there are 30 VIP guests attending the Gala Dinner who work for the major supplier sponsoring this event. Several of these guests have special needs including some who are elderly; one guest who uses a wheelchair and one with vision impairment. The event is being held at the Sheraton on The Park. Sydney and will run for 3 days: 0 A welcome party on the Friday night 0 A full conference program on the Saturday with: - Delegate registration on Saturday morning - An opening address by a senior staff member of the company - Various speakers and workshops throughout the day - Morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea have been provided - An optional Gala Dinner in the evening 0 A half day conference program on the Sunday with: - Workshops until 11am - Closing speeches at 12pm - Morning tea and farewell lunch Code of Conduct Policy All OTEN Leisure Group's employees are expected to perform their duties in accordance with the company's standards relating to punctuality, attendance, safe work practices, honesty and courtesy in their interaction with co-workers, customers and suppliers. A Code of Conduct is a guide for staff on the standards of behaviour they are required to use in their daily practice. It is a set of principles that a workplace defines as necessary for maintaining a safe and ethical work environment. This Code of Conduct specifies minimum standards of behaviour and applies to all employees. All staff members are still subject to criminal law and regulation OTEN Leisure Group will not engage in conduct that misleads or deceives or is likely to mislead or deceive consumers or other businesses. The Competition and Consumer Act 2010 governs this legislation. This law applies even if you did not intend to mislead or deceive anyone or no one has suffered any loss or damage as a result of your conduct. Procedures All staff members have a responsibility to: . carry out their duties and behave according to the OTEN Leisure Group's Code of Conduct . conduct all business with honesty and integrity . act in a manner which is fair and reasonable with due skill, care and diligence . comply with all industry rules and regulations that are applicable to their position . perform duties in a safe manner in accordance with job descriptions and comply with the organisation's Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) policies including the safe use of equipment provided and report any faulty equipment or unsafe work practices to their immediate superior . maintain confidentiality of all OTEN Leisure Group's business, employee and customer information . abstain from the use of alcohol or non-prescribed drugs during working hours . promote co-operation and mutual respect among all employees of the organisation . make suggestions that may increase the efficiency of the work they do or the overall effectiveness and profitability of the company as a whole. . report any inappropriate behaviour . respect the dignity, rights and views of othersc} Many event management companies use a Code of Conduct {also known as a Code of Ethics) which formalises the standards and ethics expected of workers. There are many different roles and careers paths in the events industry. Identify two (2) potential event management roles of the event crew for this event and outline the responsibilities of each.
