3. On 31" December 2018, Domingo & Sons cash book showed a debit balance of N29,520. His bank statement showed a credited balance of N26,500. The reasons for the difference were as follows: a. A cheque for N1,960 was received and entered in the cash book but was not recorded in the bank statement b. Un-presented cheques total N3,740. c. The payments side of the cashbook had been under cast by N2,000. d. Standing order for payment N1,260 appearing in the bank statement yet to be posted in the cash book. c. A bill of exchange of N1,340 had matured and the bank had paid on Jerry's behalf but it had not been recorded in the cashbook. f. Dividends credited to his account of N1,240 had not been recorded in the cash book. g. A withdrawal of N1,440 by Jeremiah another customer of the bank had been charged in error to Jerry's account You are required to: i. Identify and label the causes of these differences. (5 marks) ii. Prepare an updated cash book (10 marks) iii. Prepare the bank reconciliation statement as at 31st December 2018 (10 marks)
