302.02 - Project Scheduling Scheduling a large scale, IT project can be very time consuming and difficult. This lab will introduce you to scheduling with a predefined WBS for a website that you will need to break down into a project schedule using Microsoft Project. Purpose: The purpose of this activity is for you to develop a project schedule for a predefined WBS for the development of a website that has time constraints for the delivery of the major project deliverables. Objectives: After completing this exercise, you should have demonstrated your ability to: Utilize MS project to efficiently schedule a project with a predefined WBS Organize and manage tasks and milestones Utilize predecessors within a schedule Allocate resources to tasks Utilize lag and lead time within a project schedule Assignment: This lab is designed for you to demonstrate your ability to develop a project schedule given a predefined WBS and a number of project time constraints. To do this lab, you will need to use a number of the scheduling features within Microsoft Project as you create a project schedule based on the included WBS for the analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation of a website. You are to use only the tasks listed within the included WBS. Directions: To complete this lab, you will first need to transfer the task listed in the WBS to a Microsoft Project file. Next you will need to determine a schedule for each of the tasks given the time constraints listed for each of the deliverables presented in this document. Further requirements for completing this lab include: Represent project tasks and milestones appropriately within the project schedule Use the predecessor feature of Microsoft Project to demonstrate the order of completion of project tasks and milestones Use at least three different predecessor types to classify each of the project tasks Create the project schedule to fit within the time constraint outlined below Use the Lag feature to specify the starting time of a task for at least 2 project tasks Utilize the lead time feature to set lead times for 3 tasks Add a note to at least three of the project tasks explaining the purpose of the tasks Utilized the constraint features to place constraints tasks Create and assign resources to all of the project tasks Once you complete the activity, upload your assignment to the appropriate drop box.
