4. Draft an IEP for Focus Child 1 by completing Section 2 (purple section) of the IEP template ready for Lead Educator/Supervisor and family approval. You will need to: a. Develop two (2) SMART goals (1 x short-term goal that can be achieved within 1 - 2 weeks while on placement, 1 x long-term goal, which can be continued by other educators in the room of the child). b. Outline a minimum of three (3) appropriate strategies that can be embedded into programs, routines, and transitions (for the focus child), as well as the learning environment, to ensure the needs of the child are met (i.e., not one fixed solution). Factors such as the health status, cultural background of the child, their identity, abilities, interests, and strengths should be taken into consideration. c. Identify possible barriers to the learning and development and what strategies (at least one per barrier) could be put in place to overcome these. d. Provide an explanation of how the current curriculum, environment and routines will be adapted to meet the needs of the focus child. e. Provide details of additional materials, resources, or sources of information you will use to manage the child's barriers to learning- f. Outline strategies for how you will engage with colleagues to best implement the IEP. g. Outline strategies on how you could involve the child's family in supporting the implementation of the plan. h. Provide three (3) review dates for adjusting the IEP. (These will happen during your Supervisor Check-ins (SC), so use the dates of when these SCs are scheduled.)
