2. Employer also expects its employees to be available and be focused on work after the break given to them
3. They expects their employees to know their priorities
4. Employer expects it employees to know when they are wronged and report immediately
Step-by-step explanation
After listening to the audio clip, I can say that employer expects its employees to be alert at all times. As in the recording Maria enjoys her break that she didn't notice something urgent was happening in the company. Employer also expects its employees to be available and be focused on work after the break given to them. They also expects their employees to know their priorities. In the audio, Maria prioritize talking to a customer in her work time than focusing on her appointed job. Lastly, employer expects it employees to know when they are wronged and report immediately. In the audio clip it is clearly portrayed that Maria didn't admit that she is wrong, but instead she made excuses for her to not be the cause of the incident. These expectations of an employer to his/her employees are important as it contributes for the betterment of the company. Employer set this expectations to his/her employees view on their respective works, in this way the employer can distinguish which among his/her employer is worthy of a reward and which need an improvement. This expectations will then result for a good performance of the employees and can build a reputation of the company. In the audio clip, we can clearly see that Maria did not meet the expectations of her employer. First, she reason out about being in break than letting her employer explain first what happened. Second, she told her employer, Susan, how she got distracted by a customer to the extent that she forgot her work. Third, she shows how she cannot distinguish her priorities. Lastly, she did not admit immediately that it is her fault for the incident. In line with this, If I were to experience this kind of scenario in the future, I learned how to know my priorities and and on how to avoid any distractions as it affects the company. Additionally, whenever I know that I am wronged, I should report immediately to my employer to solve the problem in the most convenient time possible.
To put it succinctly, in a workplace we should be aware in what is happening in the company and we should set our priorities. Susan, the employer has a great strategy on how to confront Maria as she speak with words that is less direct to let Maria feel that she didn't blame her. However, Maria, as an employee should be alert when it comes to this kind of conversation that even though Susan did not blame her directly, she should admit that she's to blame about the incident. In this manner, when we finds ourselves in a workplace, we should know how to admit and report to the employer that we are wronged. We be open and honest communicators inside the workplace as it contributes for a good performance. We should know how to listen to our surroundings, and be alert at all times. We should not let our employer's expectation to us to get low just because we value most our ego than the growth of the company.
