[40 Marks] Qn3 A rotating shaft transmits 75 kW power at 3000 rpm and has five unbalanced masses of 12, 8, 14, 10, 6 and 8 kg as seen from left to right. The masses are radially located at 10, 16, 18, 15, 25 and 18 cm respectively. The axial spacing between the masses is 80, 70, 80, 120 and 100 cm respectively as seen from left to right. The masses are also inclined to the horizontal plane at 0, 170, 55, 110, 330 and 220 respectively. The shaft is to be balanced by placing a mass (ML) centrally between mass one and mass two at a radial distance of 14 cm. The second balancing mass (MM) is to be placed centrally between mass four and mass five at a radial distance of 10 cm. Determine the values of ML and MM and their angular inclinations.
