This assessment is designed to assess following learning outcomes: This assessment covers the following LOs. LO1: Understand, create and use knowledge management solutions that contribute towards cost savings and improved productivity of an organization. LO2: Appraise how and why knowledge management solutions might have different performance impacts, depending on the circumstances by evaluating the key factors and their nature of impact on performance. INSTRUCTIONS Answer the questions based on a case study given below: Case Study Kimberly-Clark Australia (KCA) is one of Australia's leading manufacturers, marketers and sellers of personal care, family care, health care and related products. KCA is entirely owned by the global Kimberly- Clark Corporation (KCC). KCA employs approximately 1850 employees across Australia and New Zealand. Being involved primarily in the manufacturing, marketing and selling of high-volume consumer products into the retail market, KCA is in a highly competitive business environment. Recently, KCA has recruited a knowledge management officer to find out irregularities and challenges in its production plants. One of the major findings is some maintenance functions have been outsourced which causes regular disruptions to the production process. In some instances, sales department has failed to meet few product delivery deadlines due to the discrepancy between the order placed from the customers and products delivered to the customers. Now, the main objective is to develop a knowledge management solution for the company to minimize production disruptions. Qi) a) Discuss and justify in detail about a capturing strategy that you will use while capturing tacit and explicit knowledge with respect to find out production disruptions and irregularities in its production process. In your opinion, while capturing knowledge, will your approach be different for different functional units (i.e., maintenance and sales) or similar. Justify your answer. Also, they have requested you to come up with an example of knowledge codified in decision tree with respect to the problem given in the case study
