4.5. A dispute arises Once the painting has been undertaken to the inside of the property, Mr Bonde queries John about the level of paint finish and feels that it not to industry standard. He is concerned that not enough coats have been applied. John believes that the painter he engaged has completed the works to an acceptable standard and tells Mr Bonde this. Mr Bonde is not happy and is adamant that a further coat is required. The parties are in dispute. Using the contract, and dispute resolution under state/territory regulations answer the following: * Identify the dispute resolution term in the contract and describe the process under that provision, including what options may be available to have the dispute resolved. Cite the clause Most dispute resolution processes start with one party notifying the other of the dispute. As the builder, prepare a dispute notice to send to Mr Bonde, detailing the dispute and the next step/s. 4.6. Notice of Practical Completion The building works progress and are now near practical completion (or completion as referred to in some states). The builder is required to notify the owner when practical completion will be occur and is required to send a notice detailing the date assessed for practical completion, and nominate a date to meet on site to inspect the works to determine if practical completion has in fact occurred
