5) In news yesterday, December 12, the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, in California, announced that they have already achieved fusion in a contained space and in such a way that the high temperature is maintained in a very small space. They use hydrogen inside little pellets and make it fuse with lasers that are carefully aimed at the pellets. The heat generated by the fusion is absorbed in the external walls and can be carried towards electricity generation. The balance between the energy used to achieve it and that generated was positive for the first time in this type of experiment.
