A generating station for a power system consists of three Synchronous Generators with identical speed drop of 100 MW/Hz. Two generators each provide 300 MW. The 3rd generator provides the rest of the power.  These three generators are connected to a load of 700 MW. This system’s frequency is 50 Hz.

A) Calculate the no-load frequency for the two generators generating 300 MW each.

B) Calculate the no-load frequency for the third generator with lower power.

C) Assuming the no-load frequencies of the generators didn’t change (use the no-load frequencies for each generator from previous questions), what is the system frequency for 800 MW of load?

D) These three generators are connected to a load of 800 MW.  Assuming the no load frequencies of the two 300 MW generators didn’t change from Question #1, to fix the system frequency to 50 Hz to what no-load frequency we should set the 4th generator.
