5EPTEMBER 2022 Woon has worked as an IT consultant for Toshiba for the past 5 years. His work requires regular travel to service clients' IT needs and maintain equipment rented. The following is the remuneration he received for the A total salary of RM35,400. A total of RM6,000 outstation allowance. Claim for RM3,000 in lodging expenses (hotel accommodation) related to the outstation work. - Travelling allowance totalling RM7,500. His offer letter stated that 20% of the allowance is for travel between home and office and the remaining 80% is for travel for official duties. He spent RM6,500 on travel for work during the period. Parking allowance of RM2,000. The child care allowance paid by the company amounts to RM3,000. He received a staff performance awards with a gift of a watch valued at RM2,500. - He received a cash wedding gift amounting RM2,000. A 1,000 unit share option was offered in 2018 for RM3 when the market price was RM6. He exercised the option in 2021 when the market value was RM7. The option cost incurred on the exercise is RM1,000. A RM2,000 reimbursement received on a training fee claimed in connection with his job. Toshiba paid for Woon's personal car services and maintenance amounting to RM3,000 during the year. A holiday package to Japan provided for Woon and his wife by the company as follows: - Flight and insurance totalling RM9,140. Hotel accommodation and meals are RM5,000. Tourist attraction entrance fee of RM4,000. 148 - The company provided him with a company house for 8 months during the year with the following information: The monthly rent is RM2,000. RM500 of the rental value is in respect of the fully furnished furniture provided in the house. The company paid the RM1,800 utility bill for the house. A domestic helper to assist with home matters is provided by the company during the stay. He contributed RM6,400 towards the rental value of the house during his stay. Commencing November 2021, Woon was being terminated from the company due to his ill health with the following relevant information: - Withdrawal of an unapproved retirement fund amounting to RM26,000, including its interest received on the investment. The fund is fully financed by the company. A restrictive covenant payment amounting to RM30,000 for not exposing the company's secret information.
