6. Students then develop a written paper (8 double-spaced pages of text, with additional pages for title page and references) that includes the following sections: i. Research Discussion: Discuss the articles/research findings (2 pages) ii. Case Scenario: Include here the case scenario developed for this role play. including a) demographics, b) diversity and social justice issues, c) presenting problems, and d) status of the therapeutic relationship. (1 page-same scenario as submitted for the "Case Scenario & Intervention assignment above); ili. Intervention Plan: Based on the scenario that the student developed, address the following issues (1 page each, for a total of 5 pages): 1. assess and respond to interpersonal, environmental and cultural factors that strengthen/threaten the therapeutic relationship, utilizing Teyber concepts 2. select specific treatment interventions to utilize (students should take into account the instructor feedback they received for the "Case Scenario & Interventions" assignment above when deciding on the interventions for this part of the role play assignment) 3. assess client resource linkages, barriers and advocacy needs (not just family/interpersonal resources-consider community resources and complementary treatments from other providers) 4. collaborate with other professionals to coordinate treatment 5. evaluate treatment outcomes with the client 7. On the assigned date, students will submit their written assignment (as outlined above) in the Brightspace assignment folder and also perform their role play. Like many therapists in the world practicing telehealth interventions right now, the therapy session will take place using Zoom. It can be performed live in class or recorded in advance (in Zoom) with the link sent to the instructor at least 24 hours before class. The role play should be practiced sufficiently so that a script is not necessary.
