7: East Queensland evacuation centre The recent floods in East Queensland have had a devastating effect on the residents of several townships in the area. Many residents were evacuated and moved to evacuation centres in safe areas. These centres provide the basic accommodation, food, water and medical facilities to the people affected by the floods until their homes can be cleaned and restored to a liveable condition or they can find alternative accommodation.
