8. (10pts) In 2008 melamine( C3H6N6 FW 126.12) and cyanuric acid (C3H3N303 FW 129.07) were found in milk in China. These nitrogen rich compounds were added to increase the apparent protein content. An analytical method was developed in which 1 volume of milk was mixed with 9 volumes of H20/Acetonitrile (20:80 vol/vol) to precipitate the protein. The supernatant liquid is filtered and 1.00ml is diluted to 10.00ml. The sample is filtered and analyzed by HPLC using MS-MS detector. A series of standards were prepared by adding the two compounds to milk know to be free of these two compounds. The following data were obtained: Melamine Signal Cyanuric Acid Signal 1.00mg/ml 1473 1.00mg/ml 14 3.00mg/ml 4328 3.00mg/ml 03 5.00mg/ml 7129 5.00mg/ml 207 10.00mg/ml 13997 10.0mg/ml 19978 Sample Melamine Cyanuric acid Milk A 6997 4895 Milk B 8996 15078 Milk C 11874 2103 Calculate the amount of the two compounds in the milk samples as mg/ml
