8. Project Deliverable 2: Case: You and your team are assigned to work on a project for BMW automotive company, as they are planning to add a new battery-powered series for their line of cars. In this Deliverable, you will simulate the Manufacturing process of an automotive production line using Arena Simulation Software. The production process consists of 4 stations. Body paint is the first station; the cars are sprayed with high quality paint and then they are transferred to the assembly station. After the assembly station they undergo a quality assurance inspection. If the product fails inspection it is moved to the rework station. if they pass the inspection, they are sent to a temporary storage awaiting shipment. Details of process times of each station are shown in Table 1. All completed cars are released into a temporary storage where they wait to be sent to the designated showrooms. Customers put their orders either through the internet or company dealerships. On average the company receives orders that follow a Poisson Distribution with mean value of 2 per day. The daily shift at the factory is 10 hours (7:00 am - 5:00 pm).
