A area of digital preservation is the issue of rights. If you were part of the project team charged with implementing a digital preservation program for the organization, how would you address the rights of legacy information that was digitized for the purpose of preservation? Who would hold the rights to the newly digitized information? How would you suggest the managing of the many different types of rights (such as copyrights, user rights, proprietary rights, patents, license to distribute, replicate or repair)?
