A bank wishes to compare the effectiveness of three types of in?service training programs: (i) Directed Readings, (ii) Formal Lectures and (iii) Simulated Games, for its employees working on the tellers. All the staff that completed the training program is asked to take a test on bank procedures. The scores on a 100 point for the three groups of employees are as follows.
(a)On the basis of average scores, which method is the least effective in passing on the bank procedures knowledge? Provide relevant Excel output in this part.
(b)Which training method has the least variation in scores? What is the implication of this least variation?
(c)Using Excel, perform an analysis of variance procedure on the given data. Can we conclude at the 5% level of significance that there is a significant difference in the average performance under the three training programs? Your answer must include the following.
(i)Appropriate hypotheses
(ii)The value of the test statistic used and the distribution this test statistic follows
(iii)The decision rule based on the p?value
(iv)Conclusion about the staff average performance following the three training programs.
(d)If the answer in part (c) indicates the existence of significant differences in average performance under the three different methods of training, apply an appropriate test to determine which pairs of means, if any, are statistically different. Use a 5% level of significance and show all details.
