1. A brief history/genesis of the Bretton Woods institutions. Include in your overview a brief history of the areas of focus of the IMF, IBRD and the IFC.

2. Critically assess the success and failures of these institutions, with particular emphasis on the success and failures of the IMF with respect to policies for developing countries. Any discussions on the failures of the IMF should include inter alia, a discussion on Structural Adjustment Programs (SAPs) with specific reference of this policy application for the Caribbean and Sub Sahara Africa, selecting at least two countries from each of these regions as part of your discussion.

3. Looking at the policies of the IMF, more specifically the IMFs SAP, Is The Bahamas a candidate for such a policy? What are the advantages and disadvantages of applying SAPs for The Bahamas?

4. What recommendations would you provide to the Government of The Bahamas based on your readings of the success and failures of the Bretton Woods institutions, specifically in the case of the IMF policies?
