A career in corrections that has interested me is that of a case manager, they help individuals who have been incarcerated connect to and with resources that help them transition from being incarcerated to becoming members of society. Case Managers help them connect with different groups, facilities or agencies that help them with treatment if needed, employment, or halfway homes. It is important that these individuals get as much help in their transitions as possible so that they can become successful and productive members of society. Unfortunately, that is not the case all the time but if there is a good group of people that can be helped it makes a world of difference. It is important to at least try and set these individuals up for success or at least be given a fair shot at leaving the life of crime and incarceration behind them and to me I feel like knowing that I helped those individuals would make the job very rewarding. Having the ability to give and connect them to the right resources is important and beneficial
