As a Plant Engineer, you are required to analyze the electrical quantities of this machine by calculate the equivalent impedance, total supply current, active power, reactive power, apparent power and power factor. Include the sketch of phasor diagram (is for current and supply voltage?? and power triangle in your analysis.
b) In order to reduce the energy consumption, the factory management assigned you to reduce the supply current of that machine by improving the power factor to 0.85 lagging. Design the power factor correction circuit by determining the value of the required capacitance. Then, draw the overall improvement circuit and determine the value of the new supply current.
