A company called "I sell cheap power" built an enormous wind energy project in the State of Wyoming. Its market share has grown so fast that it now commands 15% of the local power supply in the regional balancing authority, and 25% during the spring time when it is particularly windy. Within the balancing authority area, it has created one low price for its friends and neighbors (to keep them happy for having a big wind farm in their back yards), but is selling power outside its balancing authority on the spot market for at least twice the cost.
