A company has the following operations management constraints:

(a) The production facility cannot be expanded on the present site due to municipal regulations

(b) The production facility cannot continue without considering inventory options

(c) Road logistics for raw materials and despatch of finished products is to expensive due to the high cost of fuel and would like to consider railway logistics instead.

(d) Equipment is working over their projected life span and is at risk as no spare parts are no longer available should there be breakdowns
