A company is planning to build a product line to produce the parts and assemble the final products. Annual
production of each model is expected to be 1,000 units, there are 3 different models to produce in the
factory. Each product is assembled using 50 components, but 50% of these will be purchased parts. There
is an average of 4 processing steps required to produce each component, and each processing step takes 30
sec. Each product takes 20min to assemble. All processing operations are performed at work cells (each
require 20m2 of floor space) that include a production machine and a human worker. Products are
assembled at single workstations (each require 20m2 of floor space) consisting of one worker each. The
factory will operate at 2,000 hr/yr. Determine (a) how many processing and assembly operations, (b) how
