scenario

Company details:Clothing Bazaar is a clothing brand that has hired content creators to create content for their website, newsletters and social media platforms.

Scenario: We have hired many content creators to create content to help promote our clothing brand on our websites, through newsletters, and various social media platforms. A majority of our content creators submit their content on time and create great content that markets our products. This helps us sell more products than we normally would and allows us to branch out to more markets and audiences. Despite this, one of our content creators named Jacob Clark, unfortunately has not been creating his content on time. Which means he has been reaping the benefits of being a content creator (free merch, exclusive discounts, etc) but not providing the content that has been promised. We have been attempting to push the deadlines forward but Jacob Clark repeatedly misses the deadlines and shows no effort on completing anything on time. Eventually, when he does submit the content, the quality is not up to our standards and is often rushed, despite the extensions that have been given. Going forward, we must find a way to hold him accountable for the missed deadlines, but also keep him on board as he used to produce great content that was superior in marketing our products. We need to approach this scenario in a way where we can measure our expected performance with what we've been getting, and then make applicable changes to receive the performance we desire.

To address this scenario, it is crucial to implement a structured performance appraisal system for content creators. Clearly communicate expectations, deadlines, and the importance of quality. Establish key performance indicators to measure timely submissions and content quality. Periodically evaluate creators based on these metrics and provide constructive feedback. For the specific case of the underperforming creator, start an honest conversation to understand the challenges and offer support. To avoid this problem some measures need to be put in place as a consequence for the content creators' lack of work. We can put him on a benefit prohibition period to see his performance, once we are sure that he is up to date then the benefit prohibition is taken out. His negative performance will affect the other employees and will create tensions between employees. If issues persist, consider reevaluating the terms of the partnership, ensuring contributors align with your brand's commitment to excellence and timeliness.
