A consultant suggests you redesign the Gizmotron using the Taguchi principle of Robust Design combined with Motorola Six Sigma. The idea would be to redesign other parts of the Gizmotron so that the Oscilliator would be six-sigma reliable AS IS (without any improvements). This could be achieved if the spec. limits were relaxed so that only 3.4 out of a million of the components would fall outside of the new spec. limits then other things would be redesigned to accommodate the new limits. What would be new limits be?
