A countercurrent packed-bed tower operating at 300 [K] and 108 [kPa] is to be used to hydrodynamic tests. Both inlet rates (gas and water) are 210 [kmol/h]. The tower will be packed with 50-mm NORPAC plastic rings (Fp = 14 [1/ft]). Assume that the air behaves as an ideal gas. Use values of the density and viscosity of the water of 1000 [kg/m] and 1 [cP]= 1 [mPas]. The approach to flooding (f) is 60%.
