A cross-sectional correlational is the best quantitative research design for this research question. Without changing any of the variables, this design enables the measurement of the association between two variables to exercise volume intensity and symptom alleviation. The research topic, which tries to comprehend the connection between exercise and symptom relief, aligns with the purpose of a cross-sectional correlational study, which aims to uncover relationships between variables as they naturally occur. If participants are exhibiting symptoms of depression, manipulating the volume and intensity of exercise in an experimental design could not be ethical. (Meltzoft et al., 2018)
