(a) Did Angel cause the death of John?(b) Did Angel intend to cause the death?(c) Was Angel reckless with respect to causing the death? Notes.Your answers should: (1) identify the issues, (2) identify the law relevant to the issues, and (3) analyse the evidence in light of the law. In identifying the relevant law, start with the statutory provisions. Case-law is to be used to interpret the statutory provisions or to fill in gaps. In analysing the evidence, aim for reasoned arguments about how the relevant statutory provisions and propositions from the cases apply to the facts of the problem. Your primary job as a lawyer is to identify the arguments that might be made on each side and put them in their strongest form. If you think that the arguments on one side are stronger than those on the other side, say so and explain why. However, do not assume that there is a 'right answer'.

Question Baby John Boe was born two months prematurely. Dr. Angel was the pediatrician on duty at the hospital. She arranged for John to be placed on a life-support machine because of his very weak condition. Unfortunately, John also Su'ered from severe spina bida and hydrocephalus (see the following descriptions of these conditions). Angel explained John's condition and prognosis to his mother and advised her that a lengthy period on the machine would be required to give John a chance of living. She also explained that John would probably die very quickly without the life-support machine. John's mother, Mary, was a single parent. Her husband had abandoned the family several months previously, leaving his wife to bring up two young children by herself. Mary was struggling emotionally and nancially to manage their care. There were no close relatives to help - Mary was an only child and her parents had died some years ago. Mary said to Dr Angel: \"I cannot cope as it is; I just don't know what would happen if there is another child to look after." Mary requested that the machine be turned off so that John could \"be allowed to die a natural death". Angel said that she would comply with her wish. She switched off the machine and John died soon afterwards. (a) Did Angel cause the death of John? (b) Did Angel intend to cause the death? (c) Was Angel reckless with respect to causing the death
