A & F (Acrombie & Fitch) is one of the largest players in the specialty retail business. It primarily caters to young adults and operates in casual apparels and luxury apparels segment. The Organization currently follows a U-form/functional Organizational Design. The employees working for the Organization are divided in to several large groups, based on the specific functions carried out by the organization. This current organizational design, has the following weakness and potential threats- 1. The U form Organizational Design focuses on the functional groups, and has the weakness of poor resource sharing abilities. The Organization may not be able to use its resources to the full capability in the Functional Design Structure.
