A slight change in crop yield could have large implications on the profitability of his farm operation. To test the impact of fertilizer on yield she subdivides 10lots and uses the old fertilizer on one half of each lot and the new fertilizer on the other half. At the end of the growing season, she records the yield on each lot half.
