A film company was recently filming a movie at a creek in a city. Part of the scene involved an actor, Li, standing on a floating dock that was anchored extremely close to the shore by a rope and chain. In the scene, Li was then to deliver a powerful speech to a group of people that were standing on shore. Filming of the scene required a number of background actors (otherwise known as "extras"). One of the extras, Ryan, hated Li, and as filming began, he secretly untied the floating dock from its spot and pushed it out into the water. He did this because he knew that Li could not swim, was petrified of the water, and would be trapped. Li, on the dock, floated to the middle of the lake, terrified, with nowhere to go. The director of the film saw what Ryan had done and immediately fired him on the spot. Ryan stormed off of the set of the film and the director then sent a boat to collect Li from the floating dock. After returning to shore, Li has a contacted a lawyer and is hoping to sue.
What tort could Li sue Ryan for? Explain whether Ryan would be liable for that tort by describing and fully applying the relevant legal test.
