A Fraud Examiner is investigating an employee of a construction company suspected of embezzling money from her employer. The Fraud Examiner has been conducting surveillance for the past week in hopes of identifying the disposition of the stolen funds or other leads. One evening as the Fraud Examiner was parked outside the employee's home, he noticed a light go on in the basement. The Fraud Examiner then observed, through the basement window, the employee open a large safe which contained stacks of money and jewelry. To get a better look, the Fraud Examiner exited his vehicle and, from the sidewalk, noticed that the basement had many Amazon boxes, suggesting lots of purchases. Realizing the evidentiary value of what he observed, the Fraud Examiner decided to take pictures.

For this activity, you will debate whether the Fraud Examiner was justified to conduct surveillance outside the employee's home, peer into the basement window, and take pictures. You may address each of the three actions separately. Please articulate your response.
