a friend of mine's cousin was sick... my friend started taking care of her cousin during that time she was sick because she felt bad and knew her cousin didn't have a mom and dad. The cousin said to her since you've been taking care of such good care of me I'm going to give you $5k... my friend made sure she got it in writing... the next day her cousin died.... can my friend get the money from her cousins estate?
Wouldn't this be considered a gift? and usually can't you apply the moral obligation and material benefit rule, but since my friend voluntarily decided to help her cousin wouldn't that cancel the material benefit rule and moral obligation....
