A group of non-male athletes, both female and nonbinary, and their parents have sued their state university in federal court for violating Title IX of the United States Code. The allegation is that non-male athletes are treated unequally when allocating resources and should be allowed to compete on male sports teams and events. Both the university board of trustees and the plaintiffs would like to resolve this dispute by private arbitration rather than continue the litigation.
