A group of older systems/requirements engineer feel threatened by scrum and user stories. They look at how short user stories are compared to traditional requirements (and they're a lot shorter!) and conclude that you wont need as many systems/requirement engineers now.
Your boss has asked you to draft an email that includes at least 3 arguments that would help them feel more secure in their jobs. A couple of thoughts to get you started:
What other activities might a system engineer spend more time on if he/she is not writing detailed scenarios and user stories--in particular, things that might help them write better user stories or explore other things your project could do?
Scrum allows anyone to take any available task during a sprint. How might that give this engineer more job security--and what should they consider learning (if anything) to take on these additional tasks?
I'm calling this an email, but I'm not concerned with "proper" formatting (salutation, ending, etc.), just the arguments you use. Feel free to suggest arguments from online sources; just be sure to cite them! (A URL is fine as a citation.)
Expected word count: 600-900. (Going shorter is okay so long as you give several thought-out arguments. Going a bit longer is also okay.)
