A group of psychologists were interested in what kind of humor people find funny. They randomly assigned people to read about different types of humor (knock jokes, puns, sarcasm, or practical jokes) and rate how funny each joke, comment, or situation was. Ratings were made on scales from 1 (not funny at all) to 10 (extremely funny). They then performed a one-way ANOVA with a Tukey post-hoc test to see if there were differences in the mean humor scores across the four different groups
