A high correlation between two variables does not necessarily mean there is a causal relationship this is because a high correlation between two events or variables simply indicates that a relationship exists between the two variables and that relationship might be caused by other factors, but doesn't mean that one variable causes the other this because Causation is the relationship between cause and effect. And it is more specific and says that one event actually causes the other.
