A Honda plant in Ohio has asked its workers to pay back up to 10% of the bonus they received earlier this month (Hammer, 2022). It is unclear what the actual dollar amount is for individual employees but one person stated it was equal to half of their mortgage payment. The company has given employees until September 22 to decide how they want to pay it back (which seems to add insult to injury). Those that do not respond will have the funds deducted from their next bonus. One attorney states that Honda is on legal standing to request the repayments.
