A. I would start off observing the performance of Anthony. Just seeing how he operates on a day to day basis. If I notice he does indeed have some strange antics I could formulate and investigation. I could start documenting his behavior, getting employee witnesses thoughts on his situation, and more details. When documenting the behavior and or the instances of breaking rules I would document the date, time, and thoroughly explain what was going on. After all of this I would then see if his performance and his actions align with the rules. Since in this particular case, Anthony's actions do not align with the rules I would recommend taking disciplinary action.

B. The main two behaviors I would investigate is his unprofessional behavior and his substance use on the clock. Although there are more things to note, these two are the most dangerous. For example, his unprofessional behavior in terms of being late, mannerisms in a social setting, him taking a false role of training a new worker, and many more things are very toxic to the company and this behavior remains consistent with him. All of these actions can be documented and used against him in this investigation. The importance behind this specific behavior is that it is so consistent, that my actions of recommended disciplinary action would not be unjustified. Secondly, drinking alcohol alcohol on the job is a gigantic red flag. Additionally, you have to account this is not a one time thing because this has been a rumor that coworkers have been discussing thus meaning it has been a concrete action for quiet some time. This is totally unacceptable and should be used against him in the investigation as well. Again, the importance of this behavior is simply showing how far he goes when breaking the rules, yet again proving disciplinary action to be recommended.
