b) Use Appendix A to assist you in your planning.

For those who have access to a workplace, use a current objective that you and your team has. It cannot be a task or objective that can be completed alone. Rather, it should be something the team needs to accomplish together. As part of your preparation, collect and analyse information that will help you complete this task, you will need to submit evidence of the information you have collected as part of your submission. Further, you need to outline the strategy for your team. This could be a short term strategy, over several months, a medium term strategy, over the next year, or a long term strategy, five or more years into the future.

c) Once you have identified the work team objectives and strategy, collected and analysed information to assist, outline three (3) methods that you will use to help the team to work collaboratively together to fulfil the objectives.

Appendix B - Scenario

The leadership team at the Righteous Bean have decided to set a strategy for the next year to improve the business. For several years the company has set a goal of being a diverse and inclusive workplace. Unfortunately, this has mostly been a goal and not a reality. As a result, an objective has been set to employ a range of different people in the business. This includes people with no work experience in a caf or hospitality setting. The business would like to take on younger students, older workers and everyone in between and train them up to work in the business.

In order to achieve the objective of a more diversified workforce, you will need to conduct some research and analyse the results. Find out what wage staff should be paid by looking at what other cafs in Australia pay their staff per hour. Also look into how much it costs to privately train to be a barista, this can be offered to potential candidates as an incentive to work for the Righteous Bean. Afterall, the business will be training any new hires for free, while they get paid.
