The advertisement showed the model of smartphone which would be bought. Jennet decides to try to be the first in the department store so that she can buy the smartphone. She camps outside the shop at midday on 24 December, relieved to see that nobody else is yet queuing. At 7 a.m. on 25 December, the manager of the department store tells Jennet that the offer has been called off. Jennet refuses to accept this. At 8 a.m. the manager shows Jennet an advertisement in the morning edition of the local newspaper, which says that the offer has been called off. Again, Jennet refuses to leave. When the department store opens at 9 a.m., Jennet enters the shop and tells the manager that she is the first customer and that she is buying the smartphone for HK$10. The manager refuses to accept the money and says that the smartphone is only available at its usual price of HK$5,000.
