A maintenance worker has worked at a hotel and conference centre for 5 years has been fired.A leak in the pipes from the bathroom on the second floor of the hotel caused the ceiling to collapse in the conference centre and injured a guest who was attending a function.

As a result, two separate law suits were filed.

1) The guest who was injured sues the hotel / conference centre for negligence.

2) The maintenance worker sues his employer for wrongful dismissal.
