A manufacturing plant produces two (2) final Assemblies, D and E. The
company would like to produce 150,000 units of Assembly D and 60,000
units of Assembly E. The defect rate for Assembly D is 3% and for
Assembly E is 2%.
Assembly D requires 3 units of Sub-assembly A and 4 units of Subassembly B.
Assembly E requires 2 units of Subassembly B and 1 unit of Subassembly C
The defect rate of Sub-assembly A is 6% and of Sub-assembly B is 5%
and of Sub-assembly C is 4%.
Draw a simple Work Flow Diagram to represent this manufacturing facility
and then calculate the number of units required for Sub-assembly A, B and
C. Calculate to 2 decimal places and do not round-off any more than that
(do not round-up). Show all your work.
