A marketing researcher wants to investigate whether or not an individual can identify a particular soda in a blind taste test. The researcher sets up an experiment where individuals will be given a cup of Coke, either regular Coke or Diet Coke, and a cup of Pepsi, either regular Pepsi or Diet Pepsi. The researcher finds that of the 69 trials for Coke that 34 of these were correctly identified as regular Coke and for the 66 trials of Pepsi that 20 of these were correctly identified as regular Pepsi. The researcher wants to use this data to determine whether there is a difference in being able to correctly identify a regular cola or diet cola based on taste between the two brands.
