A mixed number consists of a whole number and a fraction you can write a mixed number as a fraction that has a numerator greater than its denominator. The denominator will not change. To find the numerator, multiply the whole number by the denominator and then add the numerator.

To divide mixed numbers, write each mixed number as a fraction and then divide the fractions. Remember, dividing by a fraction means multiplying by its reciprocal.

1. Jesse has 41 inches of ribbon for making bows. She uses 3 inches of ribbon for each bow. How many bows can she make? Write a division expression that can be used to answer this question.
