A new government has just been elected in the (fictional) EU Member State of Hibernia. The government has proposed a new Social Protection Bill 2024 which includes the following two provisions: Section 1: A 90% tax rate on the purchase all Sports Utility Vehicles (SUVs). (Hibernia's auto industry tends to manufacture smaller vehicles). Section 2: A ban on all forms of advertising aimed at under 18s to protect children from the effects of advertising and to reduce consumption. Advise the government of Hibernia on the compatibility of their proposals with the EU internal market.
