A pipes in series network carries liquid water (density = 1000 kg/m 3, dynamic viscosity 8.94 x 10-4 Pa-s) to a heat exchanger to cool an isopropanol reaction mixture in a CSTR. Find the volumetric flow-rate of water through the piping system if the first pipe (e = 2.4 mm) has inner diameter (ID) 0.3 m and length 10 m while the second pipe (e = 1 mm) has ID = 0.1 m and length 30 m. The pressure drop across the network is 2800 kPa and the CSTR is at the same height as the piping network. Neglect small losses such as the pressure drop to increase or decrease the speed of flow.
