Among 5922 adults who reported regular binge-drinking of alcohol, 1373 developed liver cirrhosis during the five-year follow up period. Among those who were not involved in any binge-drinking, a total of 14074 adults, there were 195 new cases of liver cancer diagnosed during the follow up period.
